Tara Chaddock

8th-Grade Math and Science
Room 21
Grade 8
Ext. 421
Hello! My name is Tara Chaddock. I joined the Colfax Elementary School staff in 2019 and love the small-town family feel the school has to offer. The community atmosphere and support are amazing and I am lucky to be a part of the Bulldog family.
My educational background started at Del Oro High School, then I went to Sierra College. Following some time off to have my children, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Business Accounting from University of Phoenix and decided that accounting was not my passion so I went back to school at the University of Phoenix and received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. My passion is teaching students and math is fun so here I am a middle school math teacher and loving every moment of it.
I grew up in Loomis and currently live in Auburn where I have a ranch where we raise and show pigs on a local and national level. I have four children, but only one is still at home. We live a busy life with kids and animals but in my spare time, I enjoy reading and travel when possible.

Dear parents and students,

My name is Tara Chaddock and I will be the 8th-grade math and science teacher, supporter, and motivator for the 2020-2021 school year. I look forward to navigating the upcoming school year with you and helping everyone be successful as we embark on this unique journey together. You’ve worked hard to reach your 8th-grade year and all the fun that is involved with being the school’s upperclassmen and I congratulate you on that achievement.

This is the start of a different, but productive school year. Please know that for this to be a successful year students will need to exercise maturity and responsibility. This means that they are expected to successfully meet certain expectations, including excellent attendance, punctuality, maintain good grades, and demonstrate self-control. While we are distance learning students will have a daily routine as if we were in the classroom, which will make for a smooth transition when we are able to have students on campus. Students will be meeting with me for math and science and Mrs. Stringer for ELA and social studies where we will be having daily class periods with direct instruction and student independent and group work time. Not to worry! I am here to guide you both parents and students through the eighth-grade experience and I promise that I will support you as best as possible for you to obtain positive results.

I am very enthusiastic about the time we will spend together at Parent-Teacher Conferences, appointments, functions, and school events. We will strive to keep our communication line open! Therefore, please feel free to contact me at tchaddock@colfax.k12.ca.us, on the Remind App using the class code @tchaddock, or (530) 346-2202 ext. 421.

I am confident that together we will continue to work hard and be consistent as you prepare for high school. I look forward to that beautiful day in May when you march across the stage to receive your diploma celebrating your success. Looking forward to a productive school year!
