Family Friendly Prescribed Burn & Information Fair
Placer RCD, in collaboration with Colfax Elementary School District, CES PTA, and Colfax High School, invites you to join us for a family-friendly Prescribed (Rx) Burn Demonstration and Information Fair.

8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Colfax Elementary School
Community members are invited to observe the prescribed burn from the designated viewing area and visit the Prescribed Fire Information Fair.
At the event you can:
Learn what prescribed fire is and why it is used
Speak with local fire and land management experts
Get information about Firewise Communities and how to start one in your neighborhood
Enjoy coffee provided by the CES PTA
Participate in a live Rx Burn demonstration (pre-registration required)
If participating in the demonstration burn, please bring:
Leather boots or sturdy hiking boots
Natural fiber clothing (cotton/jeans only – no synthetics)
Long sleeves and long pants
Hat or helmet (extras available)
Leather gloves (extras available)
A rake or other hand tool
Water, snacks, and sun protection
Please note: All students must be accompanied by an adult.
