Thank you to the Lions Club for encouraging our students to become strong readers and grow academically. Recently, the Lions donated Kindles to several students who showed tremendous academic growth over the past several months. After school care brought some snow indoors this week and used it as an art medium. Using watercolors, cookie cutters and other tools, the kids made a variety of colorful, icy creations.

Dear Colfax Elementary Families,
We are proud to partner with Placer Repertory Theater to provide a Visual and Performing Arts Intersession over Spring Break at Colfax Elementary from April 3rd through April 7th. The VAPA Spring Break Intersession will be a full day program from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will be taught by prominent actors and actresses from the Placer Repertory Theater for Colfax students in TK-8th grade. Come learn how to write scripts, create costumes, design sets, and perform individual and group roles. Both those with experience and new to acting are encouraged to register. Dear Colfax EL Families,
According to local law enforcement, Ben Taylor Road has been cleared of the mudslide that occurred earlier this evening, and it is safe to travel to school tomorrow morning. We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep everyone informed if circumstances change.

Despite our best efforts, it looks like the snow continues to fall, and road conditions are worsening. So, today, March 8th, will be a Snow Day. There will be no school today. All parent conferences will be rescheduled for a different time in the upcoming weeks. Thank you for your patience!
